Description

Our Middle School Group is for students who consider themselves to be in 7th or 8th grade. The students will continue to build on the strong academic foundation we have laid for our Elementary students at LRS microSchool. Middle School will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Due to the increased demands of middle school, there will be required work to be completed at home, so that the students can get the most out of their time in class. There will be literature studies that require home reading, home writing assignments, home math practice pages, and there may be some science extensions or other assignments that need to be completed at home. As part of our ongoing literacy instruction, the students will learn how to write an essay and there will be an opportunity to learn public speaking and to practice public speaking skills. Our combined language arts and social studies course, LEAD, will emphasize project based learning. Singapore Math at appropriate middle-school-level groupings will be available. Students will also get a chance to practice organization and develop study skills. And, of course, we will be providing our usual exciting and engaging enrichment classes!
